About the summit
Artificial intelligence is redefining how diseases are detected, diagnosed, and managed. Foundation and multimodal models can now integrate medical imaging, electronic health records, genomics, and wearable data into unified systems that augment clinical expertise at scale. Yet significant barriers remain: data scarcity, generalization, interpretability, robustness, regulatory validation, and ethical deployment in clinical settings.
This summit convenes leaders from academia, healthcare systems, industry, and federal agencies to identify priority research directions, catalyze interdisciplinary partnerships, and strengthen Texas A&M's position at the intersection of AI, engineering, and medicine.
A post-summit white paper will define three to five high-impact interdisciplinary thrust areas, identify target federal and industry funding mechanisms, and outline partnership models for center-scale initiatives and translational programs.
Four sessions
- Day 1, morningFoundation and Multimodal Models for Medicine and Health
- Day 1, afternoonTrustworthy and Responsible AI for Medicine and Health
- Day 2, morningAI for Medical Imaging and Diagnosis

Call for posters
The summit invites poster abstracts from graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty at Texas A&M and partner institutions. Posters are displayed across both days and are a primary venue for meeting speakers and potential collaborators.
Topics
Submissions are welcome on any aspect of AI for medicine and health, including but not limited to the four summit themes:
- Foundation and multimodal models for medicine and health
- Trustworthy and responsible AI for medicine and health
- AI for medical imaging and diagnosis
- Agentic AI and clinical large language models for healthcare
How to submit
Submit a title, author list with affiliations, and an abstract of up to 300 words through the submission form. Work in progress, recently published work, and preliminary results are all welcome. Poster boards are provided and are 6 ft wide × 4 ft tall (two-sided), with a usable area of 5 ft × 3 ft 10 in. Please print posters no larger than 60 × 46 inches (width × height), landscape orientation; a standard 48 × 36 inch landscape poster fits comfortably.
Best poster award
Posters are judged by the organizing committee and invited speakers. The best poster award is presented at the closing session on Day 2.
Organizers
The organizing committee spans the College of Engineering, the College of Medicine, the School of Engineering Medicine, Texas A&M Health, and TAMU Digital Health, with external participation from industry and the National Academies.
